Before the Tide Turns

There’s something about the water before the day begins. The air is cooler, the world is quieter, and everything feels possible.

We launched the boat just as the sky started to change. The horizon was painted in soft oranges and blues, and the only sound was the engine coming to life and the gulls calling overhead.
